Boris Johnson delivered his first daily coronavirus briefing today, in which he addressed social distancing. He pointed out that it is of the utmost importance that people avoid pubs, clubs and restaurants at all costs.
He also said that if anyone has either one of the two main symptoms of the infection- new, persistent cough and a fever- to stay home for 14 days. If anyone in your household has these symptoms then it is important that all the household should stay at home.
Working from home is also advised where it is possible is now essential also. Johnson said “Without drastic action, cases could double every five or six days.”
As the rise in the coronavirus still rises he said it is ‘now is the time to stop all non-essential contact with others and all non-essential travel’.
Johnson did state that, at this time, care homes and schools are not currently being forcibly closed., although this is under constant review.
