Pubs Can Reopen From 6am Tomorrow Morning, Government Confirms

Tomorrow marks a big day for pubs and restaurants across the country. After shutting for three months, they can finally open up tomorrow, 4th July. And it looks like it’s going to be an early start, as the government has confirmed that pubs can open from 6 am on Saturday. Obviously, this hasn’t been done so the lads can get an early start on their first sesh of the summer. In fact, Downing Street has stated that this is to stop pubs for opening at midnight tonight.

Although, it seems that there is no stipulation about the limit or amount of time people can spend drinking in pubs. So…. your guess is as good as ours.

Discussing the new rules, the Prime Minister’s official spokesman said: “What they do is put in place the 30-person limit on gatherings in private dwellings and outdoor spaces where not in a COVID-19 secure environment.

“The regulations also keep in place a list of premises that must remain closed and that includes nightclubs, nail bars and salons, indoor play areas, gyms, conference centres and exhibition halls.

“Those regulations mostly come into force at 12.01am on Saturday July 4th.

“The reopening of pubs and bars specifically comes into force at 6 am. That would just be in the event anybody would attempt to try to open at midnight.”
