Betty’s Is On The Hunt For A ‘Chocolate Assistant’ & It Sounds Like The Dream Job

When I’ve thought about what makes the dream job, talking about Yorkshire every single day has always been up there as one of the top choices (lucky me).

There’s nothing that I’m more passionate about than God’s Own Country… That is, except for chocolate. So when Betty’s posted the job ad for their new ‘Chocolate Assistant’ role, my eyes began to inevitably wander.

Reporting to the Chocolate Team Leader (another dream job, obviously), the job entails helping to create (and hopefully test!) some of Betty’s beautiful artisan chocolates, with no experience required to apply (although, experience is desired… Does scoffing choccy on a Friday night count?).

In addition to helping with the production of their chocolates, the Chocolate Assistant will also be involved in decorating, too, learning to pipe and mould to create the beautiful end product that Betty’s has become so famous for.

If that didn’t sound like a fantastic role already, working at Betty’s comes with a number of perks, including staff discount on the products, and free meals whilst at work.

The Chocolate Assistant job joins a large number of other roles available at the company, including Confectionary Assistant, an array of waiter/waitress positions, and exciting roles in the kitchens, too. To find your perfect role, head to the jobs site here.

Just this week, Betty’s announced the sad closure of their Little Betty’s shop in York, which will close its doors after 50 years in business.

The closure of the shop follows after the popular tearoom chain made the decision to close the cafe, there, too, leaving only the larger Stonegate venue in operation in York.

Betty’s cafes in Harrogate, Ilkley, Harlow Carr, Northallerton and York’s Stonegate venue will remain in business.
