Fans of the hit BBC panel show Would I Lie To You? Can rejoice it’s set to return in the New Year and everyone’s favourite contestant Bob Mortimer is back!
Middlesborough’s own, who has brought us the likes of Gary Cheeseman, Fuji 9, and “We do beg your pardon, but we are in your garden” is returning to the show alongside host Rob Brydon and team captains Lee Mack and David Mitchell for more laugh out loud moments.

The much-loved panel show is returning to BBC One on Friday 2nd January with more outrageous celeb stories being told in an attempt to convince everyone that their most unbelievable tales are, in fact, true.
Before the new series begins, viewers can also enjoy a festive treat with Would I Lie To You? At Christmas, airing on Boxing Day at 7pm. The special promises familiar faces, classic moments, and plenty of festive mischief — the perfect warm-up for the show’s return in the new year.
Fans will be especially pleased to see Bob Mortimer back on the panel, with the Middlesbrough-born comedian once again ready to spin his famously surreal tales. Over the years, Bob has delivered some of the show’s most legendary moments, from claiming he dos his own dentistry using Fuji 9, coming up with crazy made up names like, and insisting Chris Rea once ran him a bath and cracked an egg in it for him. Each story, no matter how absurd it sounds, somehow manages to be completely true much to the disbelief of David Mitchell.
The much-loved BBC panel show Would I Lie To You? returns with a brand-new series January 2nd. Ahead of that, viewers can enjoy Would I Lie To You? At Christmas on Boxing Day at 7pm, serving up a festive special packed with familiar faces, classic moments and, hopefully, a few more unforgettable Mortimer stories.
