It seems like an age since that last James Bond film, No Time to Die, which was Daniel Craig’s last stint as the 00 agent. The film hit our screens back in 2021, and three years on, we may have finally found out who the new Bond will be.
According to The Mirror, Aaron Taylor-Johnson is said to be the next Bond, and we are waiting for the actor to be ‘formerly offered’ the role. Known for appearances in films such as Kick Ass, Angus, Thongs, and Perfect Snogging and Avengers: Age of Ultron, the 33-year-old is said to be donning the tuxedo and sipping on the vodka martinis (shaken no stirred).
Yorkshire’s own, James Norton, who had the nation captivated in his role as Tommy Lee Royce in BBC’s Happy Valley, was one of the names floating around as in the running for the 007 role, but it seems it was not to be.
The delay between new Bonds has apparently been due to the 2023 Hollywood strikes, which have heightened the world’s anticipation for the next era of Bond to begin. Whether this puts pressure on Taylor-Johnson and the next film is yet to be seen.

It’s said that a new script is in the works according to insiders speaking to the publication with production scheduled to take place ‘as soon as possible’.
An insider told The Sun: “Bond is Aaron’s job, should he wish to accept it. The formal offer is on the table and they are waiting to hear back. As far as Eon is concerned, Aaron is going to sign his contract in the coming days and they can start preparing for the big announcement.”
Aaron has said about the rumours of him playing James Bond last week: “I find it charming and wonderful that people see me in that role. I take it as a great compliment.” We are yet to hear if he has officially accepted the role that would mean he was the eighth actor to take on the role.
We wait in anticipation for the announcement, and cannot wait for a new Bond film to hit the cinemas.
