This Spine-Tingling Immersive Train Journey Is Coming to the NYMR This Autumn

Summer might only be getting into full swing, but if you don’t want to miss out on this spook train ride, you’ll want to make sure you book early. This autumn, North York Moors Railway (NYMR) is taking passengers on a haunting train journey they won’t forget in a hurry. Mad Alice’s Ghost Train is a spooky new immersive experience that comes with a big ol’ dose of the supernatural.

Running on selected dates during October and November, this eerie journey invites brave souls to step aboard at Pickering Station for a chilling round trip to Levisham and back. Led by the infamous Mad Alice, star of The Bloody Tour of York, this ghostly adventure plunges visitors into the darker side of the moors with live actors, unnerving tales, and mysterious folklore.

The experience will feature live storytelling, eerie local legends, and even a dramatic retelling of The Signalman by Charles Dickens – a classic ghost story inspired by a tragic train crash the author witnessed.

For an extra touch of Dutch courage, guests aged 18 and over will receive a complimentary mini Mad Alice York Gin & Tonic, courtesy of York Gin, while soft drink alternatives will also be available. The spook event dates are set for: 19th October, 26th October and 2nd November. Each night offers two spooky time slots: 6pm–7pm or 7:45pm–8:45pm.

If this sounds like a bit of you, tickets are priced at £40 for adults and £35 for under-18s with a minimum age of 14. A limited number of early bird discounts are available, so booking soon is recommended.

You can book your tickets aboard Mad Alice’s Ghost Train now via NYMR website here.
