Yorkshire puddings are an institution in Yorkshire. If you aren’t fond of a Yorkshire pud, you may not be eligible for a God’s Own Country passport or even be allowed over the Pennines if you don’t salivate over those fluffy clouds of heaven. And in celebration of the tasty little buggars, we recently got our hands on the perfect recipe from a Yorkshire chef for the simplest and tastiest Yorkshire Puds there is to offer. But Rate My Plate member Danny B uploaded something that completely blew our minds.

His creation, aptly titled the ‘Yorkshire Pudding Cheeseburger’, is something to behold, and though he states it’s ‘wrong on so many levels’, we beg to differ. The creation may be a strange concept, but the execution looks beautiful. The humble Yorkshire pud is a versatile food, and Rate My Plate poster, Danny B has managed to give it a new purpose as a cheeseburger, in a way that gives a great streetfood style twist to the classic little wonder.

It’s not too far-fetched a concept when you think about it, with dishes such as the toad in the hole, a sausage nestled in a Yorkshire pud, among the greats here in England. If you ask us, meat + Yorkshire pudding = the perfect meal. What we do not condone, on the other hand, is those people who enjoy a dessert-style Yorkshire. You can keep your jams, chocs and ice-creams well away from mine, thanks very much. Sacrilege, if you ask me.
