Thinking of moving, or just love having a nosey at other places other than your own town? Well, Muddy Stilettos, a lifestyle guide, has named the best places to live in Britain for 2026, voted for by the readers, and it includes a list of the top 10 places in Yorkshire. Whether it’s great restaurants, dreamy cottages or a thriving city you’re after.

Writing about Yorkshire, Muddy Stilettos wrote: “Revered as God’s Own Country, Yorkshire is a paradise of heavenly scenery, craggy coastline, historic homes, spa towns and culturally vibrant cities. First in the list is Dore, an affluent Sheffield ‘village’. It’s located on the edge of the Peak District with its idyllic scenery and hiking and biking routes; one of its pulls is the restaurant that started in Sheffield’s Jöro, a Michelin-starred restaurant known for its amazing tasting menu.

Next is the spa town of Harrogate, which Muddy Stilettos names ‘the shopping capital of Yorkshire’. It’s home to the iconic Betty’s as well as the popular Rudding Park, which has a fantastic spa and is home to the Michelin-star experience FIFTY TWO.

Hebden Bridge is described as ‘cool, quirky and unapologetically smug about it, Hebden Bridge is the pint-sized Yorkshire town with a giant personality.’ It’s located in West Yorkshire and is home to thriving independents. Some of our favourite spots to dine are the small-plates restaurant COIN, the pub White Lion, and the craft beer spot Vocation, which also serves up delicious burgers.
