Fancy a trip to the ‘gateway to the Yorkshire Dales‘? Why not stay in this quaint studio cottage in the heart of the historic market town of Skipton? The 1855 Wash House in Skipton is a stunning studio cottage that is the perfect romantic getaway for two. Did somebody say perfect Christmas present. Even from the outside with its shop sign hanging above the door it has old-fashioned vibes.

Found just off the high street, this studio cottage has great period features.. The owner dealt in antiques and used to run a shop from the Wash House, which you can tell with the incredible decorations. As you step into the cottage you’re greeted witha beautifully decorated room with stone floors, wood beams and rustic vibes that are great for cosying up with your significant other. It’s decorated with lots of antique trinkets, and has a treat for the eye everywhere you look.

Behind the curtain you’ll find a comfy wooden framed bed. Above the bed are twinkling lights hanging from the wodden beams brining the outside in, as well as more antiques and features to check out on the bookcase behind. There is also a kitchen that is full equipped with everything you’d need for a catered stay if you don’t fancy eating out.

The 1855 Wash House is a studio cottage, located within a minutes walk from Skipton High Street. If you feel like venturing out for tea, then you have a range of beautiful restaurant, local pubs and bars on your doorstep.

Bolton Abbey is just a short drive away, as is the famous Malham Cove, where Harry Potter was filmed. In town you can visit Skipton Castle or go shopping down the beautiful Craven Court shopping centre as well. It has a range of quaint boutique and independent shops and an incredible glass ceiling arcade made from a 16th-Century theatre.
