Staycations were the trip of the year this year due to COVID, and it looks like it will be the same this autumn. There are some beautiful UK road trips that take in famous landmarks and iconic scenery and the most popular road trips n this little island has been named.
Top of the list put together by Tempcover was The Great West Way, which is a 125-mile touring route. It follows the A4 and some ancient routes through the countryside.
The Yorkshire Dales road trip via Airedale, Nidderdale and Wensleydale came in 4th place and a beautiful Yorkshire Coast road trip came in 6th. Both are amazing and take in some of Yorkshire’s most incredible and unique views that will have you forgetting about going abroad for sure.
WIth beautiful spots for afternoon tea and traditional pubs where you can enjoy some hearty grub, both are perfect to do any time of the year. We can’t wait to get the dog on the beach for a brisk walk this autumn.
Tempcover CEO Alan Inskip said: “Driving holidays can be an adventure like no other and it’s lovely to see these beautiful locations are just on our doorstep.
“Whether you’re exploring the long windy lanes of the country or cruising along scenic coastal roads, the freedom of driving away from it all can be a truly life-changing experience.”
