Following major box office success in 2019, Joaquin Phoenix’s critically acclaimed Joker is getting the ‘live in concert’ treatment.

The score for the movie has gone on to be nominated for a number of awards at the Oscars, Golden Globes and the BAFTAs – to name a few, and will now be brought to Yorkshire as part of a live cinema experience which brings the soundtrack to life with a live orchestra performing the award-winning score.
The movie’s composer, Guðnadóttir, has said:
“I’m thrilled to get to see and hear Joker in the cinema with a live orchestra.
“When we recorded the music, the orchestra brought such depth and detailed attention to the performances that we were all literally holding our breaths during most of the recording sessions. It was a beautiful trip. I’m so happy to get to go there again and for an audience to experience that too.”

The concert will tour the UK, hitting many major cities including three in Yorkshire:
May 16 – Hull, Bonus Arena
May 17 – York, Barbican
June 24 – Sheffield, City Hall
