1. Threes A Crowd

A slick modern gastro pub serving up quality British food, Three’s A Crowd, is a vibe with picture postcard views of the Stray on the outskirts of the town centre. The first thing you notice about this place is the ambience. It’s such a great spot to catch up with friends, go for a date night, or have a cheeky Sunday roast. It’s styled so it suits any occasion. If you’re after an ever-changing seasonal menu of high-quality dishes, then this is the place to be.
The dishes are beautifully and thoughtfully put together in a way that makes a feast for the eyes as well as the taste buds. It also has a hand-picked wine list to go alongside the ever-changing menu, with knowledgeable and attentive staff who are happy to give recommendations.
2. Stuzzi
Located on King’s Road in the city centre, Stuzzi is a little treasure trove of a Harrogate restaurant. Stepping inside, you’re instantly greeted with a laid-back Italian vibe with stunning murals on the walls and flags draped from the ceiling. The food and drinks here are next level. A classic Negroni goes down as an absolute treat alongside an array of small plates. The service style here is similar to tapas, allowing you to enjoy the wealth of dishes on offer. Stuzzi serves up a mix of traditional and modern Italian dishes and is always on hand to help you decide what dishes suit you.
Favourites on our visit were the soft shell crab and mozzarella with fresh peaches, with the ragu pappardelle and an absolutely hearty delight. We recommend not leaving without trying the in-house-made desserts also.
3. Pranzo

Inspired by founder Marco’s Italian heritage, Pranzo is a mix of Marco’s nonna’s traditional recipes and added modern twists, creating a truly unique experience. Enjoy fresh homemade pasta alongside a range of cocktails and an extensive wine list, whether it’s alfresco dining or in their stunning restaurant. The food menu is varied and of consistently high standard. From foccacia sandwiches to arancini, calamari and more. But sitting at the heart of the menu is its homemade pasta. With a stunning taste of Calabrese cooking on offer. Think hearty ragu, warming nduja pasta and buttery fish dishes, to name a few.
All dishes are served in proper Yorkshire portions and packed full of classic Italian flavours. If you have room for dessert, expect comfort by the bucket load, with traditional Italian desserts on offer, such as tiramisu, along with some British classics like sticky toffee pudding and bread and butter pudding.
4. The Orchid

Specialising in Far-Eastern flavours, The Orchid serves up dishes that celebrate the vibrant spices of Thailand, the bold aromas of Malaysia, the intricate delicacies of Japan, and the street food charms of China in Harrogate city centre. The carefully curated menu is served up in a stunning and elegant space and is a stunning journey across the Far East.
We tucked into Thai green curry, Pad Thai, Satay chicken, and spring rolls, all washed down with some fantastic cocktails. The flavours we absolutely love heaven with the curries packing plenty of punch, and the chicken satay is dangerously addictive.
5. Divino

This Harrogate is another Italian spot, and this is one for the Instagram with its opulent decor that’s a testament to the stunning building that houses it. It’s not just the look through, the dishes at Divino are a delight and. will indulge you in the timeless charm of Italian cuisine. A special date night venue that you’ll return to again and again, taking you on a journey of tradition, passion and finesse.
The perfect place to dine, we enjoyed great cocktails alongside our meal. The spaghetti loaded with mussels, squid, and king prawns was a personal favourite alongside the popular diavola pizza. If you have room for dessert, I’d recommend the rich dark chocolate and classic tiramisu, although I am a sucker for tiramisu.
6. Pizza Social

Pizza Social serves up Neapolitan pizzas in a chilled space in the heart of Harrogate. Using the best flour, tomatoes and mozzarella imported from Italy alongside some proper locally sourced Yorkshire toppings, these are some of the best pizzas we’ve tried. Inside, it’s a cool, intimate space where you have to get there early to make sure you get a seat.
We have only had a takeaway here, but we were pleasantly surprised and look forward to dining in the cool space with walls adorned with skateboards, merch, and sweet pics that give off that DIY feel that every good pizza spot should have.
7. Paradise Tap & Taco
Serving up some fantastic craft beers alongside the most delicious Mexican street food, this Harrogate restaurant is the perfect spot to spend an afternoon. Spread across two floors, it offers plenty of comfy sofas to retreat to while you sip on craft beers. We tucked into tacos, a burrito and their irresistible chilli lime salt fries. The burritos are spot on, with fillings ranging from fried chicken and slow-cooked pork to halloumi with pineapple, chipotle mushrooms and avocado.
Despite being stuffed, we couldn’t help but eye up the quesadillas with a touch of food envy. Everything is made fresh to order on-site, with plenty of vegan options to choose from, making it a spot that caters for everyone. To top it off, the venue is super dog-friendly, offering a warm welcome to both people and pups – the ideal hideout when you fancy a relaxed afternoon at the pub.
8. Cold Bath Taproom & Clubhouse

This Harrogate taproom is one of the cosiest spots in town for a beer. Cold Bath Brewing Co brews all of its beers in-house, with the brewery itself on display for visitors to see, adding to the charm of the venue. The dog-friendly pub boasts an impressive line-up of beers, from crisp lagers and refreshing pilsners to bold IPAs and tangy sours. But it doesn’t stop there, guests can also tuck into Yuzu street food, serving up a mouth-watering selection of Asian-inspired dishes, including fluffy bao buns, sticky chicken wings, noodles and more. Whether you’re stopping by for a pint or a feast, this welcoming taproom is the perfect place to spend a lazy weekend in Harrogate.
9. Giggling Squid

Serving up some of the tastiest Thai food and cocktails, this Harrogate spot is perfect for a flavour-packed lunch. We kicked things off with prawn crackers before diving into the lunch tapas sets, which let us sample a variety of dishes without splashing the cash.
Our picks were the red Thai curry and a massaman curry, both served with rice and two sides. Options included pork dumplings, crispy spring rolls, salt and pepper squid, and juicy chicken wings – all just as delicious as they sound. The sets were surprisingly filling, and we loved being able to try a bit of everything in one meal. At just £14.75 per person, it’s incredible value for such bold flavours. Honestly, we’re still dreaming about that red curry now!
