Botham’s of Whitby has opened a beautiful, new tea room at its existing Enterprise Way site, offering a stunning new place for people to enjoy their incredible cakes, bakes, brunch and lunch at the out-of-town location.
Just a short drive out of the busy town, where the famous bakery hails from, the Enterprise Way location has been in development since 2022, and provides a more accessible experience with ample parking and a 72-cover cafe.

Botham’s has also launched a brand new menu to celebrate, which incorporates Botham’s baking heritage with dishes such as sandwiches and traditional teas.
Combining “1865 nostalgia meets modern-day chic”, guests can enjoy coffee with friends, grab brunch or lunch or simply pick up their favourite Botham’s bakes in the new space, with the bakery shop also on site for all of your fresh produce needs. Think window seats overlooking Hawsker fields, modern-industrial decor, paired with elegant sofa seating.

Lois Borrett, Director and great-great-granddaughter of Elizabeth Botham, says: “We’re really excited to announce the opening of our new Tea Room on Enterprise Way, almost completing the site which has been in development since 2022. We’ve been overwhelmed by the support from customers near and far – it has been a pleasure welcoming you into this beautiful, new space – and we’ve had amazing feedback to date.
Lois continues, “Here at Botham’s, my family and I are always trying something new and moving forward and one thing is for sure, my trailblazing great-great-grandma, Elizabeth Botham, would certainly approve!”

Botham’s of Whitby began life in 1865, when Elizabeth Botham began selling her bakes at the local market, before acquiring a site on Skinner Street, which remains to this day. The bakery is famed for its lemon buns, which have become a foodie icon in the seaside town.
The new tea room is open now and will soon expand to include an outdoor seating area.
