Christmas has officially arrived at one of the most beautiful stately homes in the country, as the popular Chatsworth Christmas Market opens its doors today (Saturday 7 November).
Set in the stunning grounds of Chatsworth House in the Peak District, the annual festive market is back for another year, bringing more than 100 stalls, delicious seasonal food, live music and plenty of Christmas shopping opportunities.
Although it isn’t technically in Yorkshire, Chatsworth is just a short trip across the county border and is well worth adding to your festive day-out list.

With its grand historic house, beautiful surroundings and magical festive atmosphere, it’s easy to see why the market attracts visitors from across the country every year.
More Than 100 Stalls Selling Christmas Gifts And Decorations
The Chatsworth Christmas Market is held on Lodge Hill, between the entrance to Chatsworth House and the Stables.
Visitors can browse more than 100 stalls selling everything from Christmas decorations and thoughtful gifts to stocking fillers and festive treats.
Many of the products on offer come from local and UK-based makers, making it a lovely opportunity to pick up something a little different while supporting independent businesses.
As you wander around the market, you’ll find glittering festive lights and live music helping to create a magical atmosphere.
Whether you’re looking to get ahead with your Christmas shopping or simply fancy a festive day out, there’s plenty to enjoy.
Festive Food, Mulled Wine And Plenty Of Christmas Cheer
Of course, no Christmas market would be complete without some delicious festive food and drink.
There are plenty of tempting options to enjoy while exploring the stalls, including gourmet burgers, sausages, hot pork rolls, pancakes and churros.
If you’re in the mood for something to warm you up, you can also enjoy a traditional mulled wine or a German beer from one of the outdoor bars.
For those wanting to make more of their visit, the Cavendish Restaurant also offers the option of booking lunch, dinner or afternoon tea.
You can also pop into the Stables shop to explore its own selection of home, garden and fashion gifts, decorations and festive treats.
