Clap For Carers Set To Return During The New Lockdown

As we find ourselves in our third lockdown, residents across the UK have been urged to take to their doorsteps once more as Clap for Carers is set to return Thursday at 8 pm. The first lockdown saw the nation take to their doorsteps and clap, bang pots and show their support for NHS workers each week.

Millions of folk lined the streets in support, vene members of the royal family and the Prime Minister, Boris Johnson. The organiser of the movement has called for its return taking to Twitter she said: “We are bringing back the 8pm applause, in our 3rd lockdown I hope it can lift the spirit, of all of us. Carers teacher, homeschooling parents, those who shield and ALL who is pushing through this difficult time! Please join & share! #clapforheroes

The previous event was critisised for being political. This time round the organisier has asked the nation to Clap for Heroes in a bid to lift our spirits. Anne Plas calls on us to celebrate ‘Carers teacher, homeschooling parents, those who shield and ALL who is pushing through this difficult time!’

It’s going to be a difficult time, and we applaud Ms Plas for attempting to lift the nation. We will be on our doorsteps showing support to everyone out there. At times like these we need to pull together and show compassion to each and every person out there – to help pull everyone through this pandemic together.
