Leeds food offerings have increased tenfold over the last few years with more great unique options than ever before. You can have amazing pizzas and burgers that are some of the best offerings in Yorkshire, as well as new street food options, which are the on-trend thing at the minute.
The student area of Leeds is where many new restaurants are popping up, and this new burger place Fat Hippo is one we are particularly excited about. Serving up some American BBQ-style burgers, this place has us salivating at the mouth looking through their menu.
New Fat Hippo restaurants are popping up all over the North of England and with good reason. You can enjoy a range of juicy burgers topped with unique flavour combinations. Gone are the days of serving up a slab of meat between two bits of bread. Fat Hippo, in Headingley, is offering double patties with quirky flavour combos like ‘Wild Bill, which is a double patty, American cheese, smoked bacon, Cajun waffle fries, BBQ sauce, ranch & jalapeños.
Our favourite offering is the ‘PB & Double J burger, which is a double pattie, topped with chunky peanut butter, bacon jam, smoked chilli jello all between brioche buns – heaven! Its quirky flavour combos are putting the Newcastle born burger joint on the map.
They also offering up chicken and vegan options with a range of sides like Canadian poutine, which is chips, cheese and gravy to Yorkshire folk – all perfect for a date night with a difference.
If you’d like to visit, check out Fat Hippo in Headingley website here, we are sure you will be getting booked in as soon as you’ve since the saucy offerings this burger joint is serving up.
