Their excellence has earned them spots in the coveted top 10 finalists for the 2024 National Fish and Chip Awards in the Takeaway of the Year category. We know, last thing you need to tihnk about on a Monday is fish & chips.
An esteemed judging panel meticulously sifted through contenders, ultimately narrowing the selection down to just 10 exceptional establishments. The Yorkshire contenders vying for the prestigious title include Mister C’s in Selby, Auckley Friery in Doncaster, Lighthouse Fisheries of Flamborough located in Bridlington, and The Fish Bank situated in Sherburn-in-Elmet.

These establishments stand out for their commitment to delivering outstanding fish and chip experiences, and their recognition as finalists is a testament to their dedication and culinary prowess.

Awards organiser and National Federation of Fish Friers president, Andrew Crook, said: “To be awarded Takeaway of the Year status by the fish and chip industry is something that many a chip shop business wants to attain. It’s not an easy thing to accomplish and we’re incredibly happy for, and proud of, these 10 brilliant finalists which are edging nearer to what will be a truly amazing outcome for one of them.”
