Here’s All We Know About ‘A Woman Of Substance’ Series Two

Like all of you, we’ve been loving the remake of ‘A Woman of Substance’ by Channel 4, which has taken the audience on a roller coaster of emotions. Emma Harte’s rags-to-riches story is great viewing, and we promise we aren’t just being biased, as it was filmed in Yorkshire.

The series is based on the multi-million bestselling novel witten by Barbara Taylor Bradford OBE starring Brenda Blethyn and Jessica Reynolds as the two versions of Emma Harte. The series tells the tail of Harte, who goes from a poor maid in Yorkshire, and goes on a journey to become the world’s richest woman.

The remake of the popular 1980s show has proven a massive hit with the nation, so questions of a second series aren’t out of line. Surely it’s just a matter of time before the news comes.

Currently, there are no official word about a second series of the hit series that’s filmd in Yorkshire, but as it has only just aired, we believe it is only a matter of time before the broadcaster makes a decision or not.

The series has only focused on the first half of the novel so far, according to the co-writer Roanne Bardsley, speaking at a screening, Cosmpolitan rerpots. Meaning, there is still a second part of the tale to tell.

The first series tells the story of Emma Harte, an impoverished, ambitious maid in Yorkshire, England, who goes on a dizzying journey to become the world’s richest woman, gazing down from a sprawling luxury New York penthouse. A rags-to-riches tale of women through the 20th century, Emma defies the expectations of her society, fearlessly challenging the roles she’s given, smashing glass ceilings, and never, ever deviating from her masterplan: Get to the top. Whatever it takes.
