Love Island’s First-Ever Deaf Contestant From North Yorkshire

It’s here. The show that takes over our teles whether we like it or not has arrived and this year sees the show’s first deaf contestant heading into the villa. The model and dancer who is set to make history is from Yorkshire!

Tasha Ghouri hailing from Thirsk in North Yorkshire is 23 years old and has been revealed as one of the first eight singletons that will be heading to the famous village in Majorca for Love Island 2022.

So far, eight singletons have been revealed to be heading into the brand new Majorcan villa, including paramedic Paige Thorne and student Liam Llewellyn.

What do we know about Love Island 2022’s Tasha Ghouri?

The model from Thirsk is heading into the village in hopes of finding ‘the one’. At 23 years of age, she says she is ‘definitely ready for a relationship and for someone to ‘on holidays and travel’ with.

Asked how her family and friends would describe her Tasha from Thirsk, North Yorkshire has said they would describe her as ‘wild’. She says she’s “always the one on the dancefloor”. Continuing “I love my prosecco and to have a dance” she says. ‘I’m very loyal to my friends and family, I’ll always have their backs.

On the other end of the spectrum, she describes herself as a ‘nap queen’, but says her family would consider her to be “inspirational” because of her hearing and cochlear implant.

When does Love Island 2022 start?

Love Island’s eighth series will kick off on Monday, 6th June. As always you can watch it on ITV2, the first episode will be a bumper one, starting at 9pm and airing until 10:35pm.

This year will see the new contestants visit a new village in Majorca as the previous property near Sant Llorenc des Cadassar is reportedly unavailable.
