With the weather hitting highs of 30 degrees today, we thought it best to find some beach fun for folk to have. People will be heading to all the popular seaside resorts along the Yorkshire coast, and we’ve found the most beautiful lesser-known sandy beach for you to enjoy with space for you to enjoy.

Mappleton Beach in East Yorkshire is a 3-mile beach just south of the seaside town of Hornsea. It is a flat beautiful sand beach that is great for exploring and swimming. Due to the fast-eroding cliffs, the area is a great place to take kids as there are plenty of opportunities to search for fossils.

Parking at the top of the cliff is free, but, quite small, so get there early. Head down to the beach and take a dip in the sea. You won’t find your typical attractions down on this beach, but what you will find is serene open spaces and plenty of socially distanced fun to be had with the family.
Don’t worry if you thought you’d have to leave your doggo at home, so the whole family can enjoy a day out. This beach is dog-friendly as long as you keep them on a lead.

If you’re looking for a snack or some refreshments, there is a grand cafe as you enter the beach. If you’d like to keep an eye on the tide, you can check it out here.
We’ve got a range of beaches in Yorkshire that are perfect for enjoying the summer sun. Make sure you have our ultimate guide to Yorkshire beaches to hand this summer so you’re never stuck for something to do.
