Talking about Christmas in August? Surely not! But, we are. You’ll have to be quick to book tickets for events this year, as we are sure people will be crying out for all things festive after the last two restricted Christmases. This Christmas in Narnia at Castle Howard sounds like the most magical event for the Xmas period.

Stepping through the wardrobe, you’ll be greeted with a wonderful winter wonderland in the North Yorkshire stately home near York. The magical books of C.S Lewis will be brought to life in this incredible event, which has had an ice spell thrust upon it, which will see Castle Howard transformed into a Narnian wonderland.

You’ll be able to visit Father Christmas, where kids can ask for presents for Christmas. There will be a series of theatrical installations such as lighting, projections and soundscapes that will create an immersive experience that you won’t want to miss.

The interior of the stately home will also be transformed for this unique experience. You’ll feel like you stepped back in time when you witness the lavish decoration of this grand house. The highlight has to be the iconic 25ft Christmas tree that is set to be adorned with over 3,000 baubles in the Great Hall.

With plenty to do, you’ll easily be able to spend a whole day just soaking up the festive atmosphere, indulge in a little bit of light shopping in the gift shops before trying tasty treats from the farm shop. Who wouldn’t want to visit this winter?
