New Hourly Hull To Liverpool Trains From This Week

Hurrah! Public transport in the North is always tumultuous, so some good news for Hull rail passengers is welcomed. You can now travel between Hull and Liverpool even more easily with the introduction of larger and more environmentally friendly trains.

The new timetable for direct trains to Liverpool comes into effect this week where trains will leave Hull Paragon Station hourly. Many of the new services to Liverpool Lime Street will also offer 161 extra seats compared to the current trains on the route.

The new Bi-more trains are more eco-friendly as they are operated using diesel or electric power. The direct trains were previously less frequent, so the new addition will be welcomed. The Nova 1 trains TransPennine Express timetable came into effect on Sunday, and Nova 1 trains are due to start cross-Pennine journeys this week.

The direct train journey takes around two and a half hours and its usual stops are Brough, Selby, Leeds, Huddersfield, Manchester to name a few but so check your timetable before travelling.

The BBC reports that the managing director of Transpennine Express, Chris Jackson, said he was “pleased to be able to introduce our new services for our customers in Hull”.

Councillor Mike Ross, leader of Hull City Council, said: “Hull City Council is delighted that TransPennine Express has forged this new hourly train link between the port cities of Hull and Liverpool that will help transform rail travel, with shorter journey times and more travel opportunities across the north.

“Many of these services will be operated by modern bi-mode trains using a mix of diesel and electric power as they go from Hull to Liverpool, resulting in less carbon emissions and helping to combat climate change.”
