UK’s Highest Pub in Yorkshire Granted Beer Garden Permission With Panoramic Views

Fancying enjoying a pint in the highest pub in the UK whilst sitting in a lovely beer garden? Well, that might soon be the case as the famous Tan Hill Inn‘s planning permission for building work has been approved.

Sitting 528m, or about half a kilometre, above sea level, it’s the highest point in the country where you can grab a pint. Not only that but it’s very, very remote with the nearest town a whole 11 miles away called Kirby Stephen.

A new beer garden isn’t all. Tan Hill Inn’s work also includes a two-storey extension, solar panels on the roof and internal improvements. Also five more rooms, toilet improvements such as disabled toilets and also a bigger kitchen.

Owner Andrew Hields said: “We have an excellent relationship with our customers, the Tan Hillers, and as well as more rooms they wanted an outdoor area to take advantage of the inn’s amazing views, more items on the menu and more toilet space. These wishes will all be met by this planning approval.”

It’s not sure when these works will be completed, but you can still enjoy all that Tan Hill Inn has to offer currently with its 12 rooms, or even wild camping. Check out all the pub has to offer here.
