Nine Yorkshire Restaurants Featured In List Of Top 100 UK Restaurants

We love any spot that shouts about Yorkshire restaurants, especially when it’s a stunning restaurant doing wonderful things with food. The Good Food Guide, in partnership with Square, has compiled its annual list of Britain’s best local restaurants, searching for the spots where people really love to eat.

The list is created from almost 60,000 nominations that are whittled down to the most ‘compelling, confident, community-focused restaurants, bistros and wine bars’, and we get to share these fantastic Yorkshire restaurants with you. Some are old favourites and others are ‘brilliant under-the-radar gems you’ve helped us to uncover’, according to editor Chloe Hamilton.

Yorkshire spots featured in the list range from cool neighbourhood bistros & cafes to Michelin guide-worthy grub. We’ve added some to our bucket list for us to try on our rounds around God’s Own Country, and some are firm favourites of ours.

Our local favourite is Hearth, found in the old town of Hull. The bottom floor is a bar and bakery, whilst upstairs hides a sleek yet homely restaurant that serves delicious plates of small and large dishes all kissed by flames on the grill – hence the name. From the sourdough served with your starter to the last mouthful of the moreish desserts, you’re treated to an experience like no other. A restaurant helping to put Hull on the culinary map.

Another spot we’ve tried and can attest to being well worth the visit is Coin in Hebden Bridge. Another small plates spot offering brilliant modern dining. The restaurant offers an ever-changing sharing menu. We especially enjoyed the oysters. If you’re looking for great wine and food surrounded by your nearest and dearest, then this is the spot for that.
