Enjoy A Magical Train Journey With Santa And His Elves In Yorkshire This Christmas

Fancy going on a family-fun day out with Santa? Well, this Christmas you can! Santa is leaving his sleight at the North Pole and inviting you to join him on the award-winning North Yorkshire attractions North York Moors Railway for an unforgettable Christmas adventure.

You can join Santa and his elves aboard the Santa Express which will take you on a magical adventure that will have you feeling all festive this December. The big man himself will be greeting children with his jolly elves as he passes through the heritage railway carriages for a meet and greets with all those good girls and boys aboard his train.

The children will hear Christmas stories, receive gifts for Jolly Old St Nick and receive a Christmas backpack as well. The journey lasts around one hour from Pickering or Grosmont. You can visit Santa starting from the 4th December, check out the times below:

Pickering Santa Specials Departures

Dates: 4 & 5, 11 & 12, 18 & 19 and 20, 21, 22, 23 & 24 December 

Times: 09:35, 11:10, 13:55 & 15:30.

The journey lasts approx. 1 hour.

Grosmont Santa Specials Departures

Dates: 4 & 5, 11 & 12, 18 & 19 and 20, 21, 22, 23 & 24 December

Times: 10:15, 12:30 & 14:35.

The journey lasts approx. 1 hour.

Ticket prices are £26 per person and include one-hour train journey with a special Christmas present and NYMR backpack for each child (Children under 12 months can travel on the service free of charge however a seat or a gift will not be provided). If you can’t wait that until October, the North Yorkshire Moors Railway is running its summer service all the way through to September, and has a range of other events such as the Diesel Weekend on 11th-12th September; the Annual Steam Gala on 23rd-26th September.
