Following the news that Pizza Express would be putting 1,100 jobs at risk following the UK lockdown, the restaurant chain has now confirmed plans to close 73 sites across the UK – eight of which are in Yorkshire.

The closures will make up part of a huge cost-cutting strategy, which aim to help the pizza chain bounce back after a number of financial difficulties over the past year. Here’s the full list of Yorkshire sites affected:
- Halifax
- Crown Street, Leeds
- Horsforth, Leeds
- Northallerton
- Scarborough
- Devonshire Street, Sheffield
- Sheffield The Moor
- Wakefield

Pizza Express currently has a total of 454 sites in the UK, however, bosses have stated that they’ve seen declining earnings for the past three years. The closure of the 73 selected sites will reportedly save the business £144m.
