We love an experience that’s a little different, and the popular pleasure cruiser, the Yorkshire Belle, the last remaining pleasure boat that has been operating from Bridlington harbour since 1947, has announced the return of one of its most popular events after several years away.
Passengers can once again enjoy a haunted journey along the Bridlington coastline, where they’ll learn all about the area’s history while hearing chilling tales of shipwrecks, lost souls and dark secrets from the sea. As dusk falls, the Yorkshire Belle heads out onto the North Sea, treating guests to spine-tingling stories inspired by the region’s rich maritime past and helping to keep local folklore alive.
While many visitors know the Yorkshire Belle for its scenic cruises along the spectacular East Yorkshire coastline, these special evening sailings offer something altogether different. As darkness falls over the North Sea, the familiar sightseeing boat is transformed into a floating storytelling venue, where tales of shipwrecks, smugglers, lost sailors and local legends make for an unforgettable night on the water.
The experience last 90 minutes and on board, guests can relax with a drink from the licensed bar while taking in the sea views.
Announcing the return on social media, the Yorkshire Belle team wrote: “After years away, our much-loved Ghost Cruises are returning to the Yorkshire Belle for 2026. Step aboard for an eerie evening cruise filled with haunting tales of shipwrecks, lost souls and dark secrets from our coastline. As the light fades and the sea turns dark, you’ll hear chilling stories that bring the past to life. A unique experience for those who enjoy local history, mystery and a good ghost story.
