This Yorkshire Day, Stockeld Park is set to attempt a world record by gathering the largest number of people wearing flat caps in one place.
For those who don’t know, Yorkshire Day is on 1 August. The aim is for Stockeld Park to bring together more than 600 flat cap-wearing guests. The first 600 guests to book online for 1 August will receive a free flat cap to wear during the event. The record attempt will take place at 3.30pm.
This summer, Stockeld Park is inviting families, friends and Yorkshire enthusiasts alike to celebrate all things local with the launch of The Great Yorkshire Summer, a season-long celebration of Yorkshire culture, traditions and community spirit.
There will be a range of Yorkshire-themed entertainment and experiences across the day, from welly wanging to a host of family-friendly games and activities celebrating Yorkshire’s heritage.
Other attractions include a Yorkshire Tea relay, a Yorkshire pudding-eating challenge, a Yorkshire-themed pub quiz, flat cap frisbee and much more.

Yorkshire has such a strong sense of identity and community, and The Great Yorkshire Summer is our way of celebrating that with visitors of all ages. We’re especially excited about the record attempt. It’s a fun, light-hearted moment that we hope will bring lots of people together and put a spotlight on Yorkshire Day in a really special way.”
