This Idyllic Yorkshire Village Has Been Named One Of The Best In The UK

Yorkshire is renowned for its breathtaking countryside, spanning from the captivating Yorkshire Wolds, along the coast, across to the Dales andthe enchanting North York Moors.

Nestled within this picturesque countryside lies some of the most charming villages, and one such gem has earned the distinction of being named among the most beautiful in the UK by Conde Nast Traveller.

Hutton-le hole, situated in North Yorkshire, proudly claims its place among the top 20 most exquisite villages in the UK and Ireland.

It’s easy to understand why. With its quaint chocolate factory, stunning cottages, and scenes reminiscent of a postcard. While Yorkshire is packed full of little-known villages oozing with beauty, the travel experts selected Hutton-le-Hole for its ‘trickling’ stream and the sheep that roam freely, citing it as a great place to paddle and have a picnic.

This village undoubtedly ranks among the most picturesque destinations in Yorkshire. It’s like a labrynthy of beautiful houses, quaint bridges and more knitted together with grass verges.

This accolade marks the village’s second consecutive year on Conde Nast Traveller’s prestigious list, cementing its status as a must-visit destination for those seeking a peaceful escape. Our visit during the winter season only heightened its beauty, as a delicate dusting of snow added to its charm.

Hutton Le Hole, located on the outskirts of the North York Moors National Park, offers an array of attractions, from unique independent shops and cosy cafes to a serene stream, pastoral sheep-dotted fields, and even its very own chocolate factory.

The magazine recommended described the village saying: “On the edge of the North York Moors National Park, with a stream trickling through it and sheep roaming freely is Hutton le Hole.

:In the summer, plant yourself on the grass in the centre of the village with a picnic and paddle in the stream, and when the heavens open, hibernate in one of its tea shops for a hearty slice of cake. Don’t leave without filling up at The Chocolate Factory, set up in the village by chocoholic brothers Gareth and Chris East nearly 20 years ago.”
