We love a unique experience, and this one sounds like an absolute winner. Fish and chips, a British staple, paired with a stunning train journey across the North York Moors. What more could you ask for?
The North Yorkshire Moors Railway still has May dates available for its popular Fish and Chips Service. Dates are already filling up fast, but there are still a few spots left for those wanting to travel in style through the beautiful moorland landscape. Remaining dates include 12, 13, 16 and 19 May.
Travelling from Pickering Station to Goathland and back, passengers can enjoy freshly prepared fish and chips from the award-winning Capplemans Fish and Chips. Combine that with countryside views and a nostalgic railway journey, and it really does feel like a match made in heaven, especially for us Yorkshire folk.
Expect crispy batter, flaky white fish and perfectly cooked chips, all washed down with a nice brew. Your return journey is included in the £45 ticket price, and for an extra £5 per person, you can add a cream scone to the experience.
If this sounds like your kind of day out, you can book tables for two or four people, but you’ll need to be quick. It’s a popular event, and spaces are limited, so booking ahead is highly recommended for a day packed with flavour, scenery and a lovely dose of railway nostalgia.
