This September, to celebrate 10 years of brewing, True North Brew Co is bringing back the city’s much-loved Half Pint Marathon, bigger, bolder, and brimming with Sheffield pride. The month-long event celebrates Sheffield’s independent culture and gets you exploring the city, featuring 26 pubs, taprooms and bars dotted across the city.
Organised by True North, the event allows participants to discover tucked-away microbreweries, admire artwork from local creatives, and experience the warm community spirit that makes the city unique. Taking place throughout September, you can pop into any participating venue to collect your map and info sheet (your personal marathon passport). Each stop will be serving an official Half Pint Marathon beer, with 25p from every pint donated to Sheffield Mind.

The challenge is flexible: complete 13 venues for a half-marathon, or all 26 for the full course, once you’ve collected the stamps then hand in your completed map at any venue to claim a limited-edition 10th anniversary print, a keepsake of both the event and True North’s milestone year.
But it’s not only about the pints. This year’s marathon also features bonus challenges. From quirky things to spot along the way to social media photo prompts, giving participants the chance to win surprise prizes throughout the month. Whether you spread the route over several weekends or sprint through in one go, the aim is the same: to celebrate Sheffield, pint by pint.
Over the last decade, True North Brew Co has become a cornerstone of the city’s independent brewing scene. The 10th Half Pint Marathon is not just a toast to beer, but to community, creativity, and everything that makes Sheffield pour with personality.
