Summer is finally here, which means we can all venture out of our homes once more. Like bears emerging from hibernation, we’ve braved the winter months, but just as daffodils signal the arrival of spring, the return of THOR’S Tipi in York marks the start of summer – and we couldn’t be more excited!
This year, THOR’S is making its much-anticipated return to Parliament Street on 23rd May, bringing with it an exciting new collaboration with a huge Yorkshire celebrity chef. Over the years, it has cemented itself as a must-visit summer destination, right in the heart of York’s bustling city centre.
A Summer of Incredible Food & Drinks

THOR’S recently announced their return on Instagram, confidently calling themselves the ‘food capital of York’ this summer—and with good reason! Locals and tourists alike flock to this lively spot for great food, refreshing drinks, and top-tier summer vibes.
One thing you can always count on when THOR’S is around? The mouth-watering food from Yuzu Street Food. This year, they’re back and serving up their crispy corn dogs, loaded gyoza, and famous Yuzu fries—which, honestly, we could eat by the truckload.
A Celebrity Chef Joins the Lineup
The biggest news this year is the venue’s exciting partnership with Michelin-starred chef Tommy Banks. Once the youngest Michelin-starred chef in the country, Banks is best known for his award-winning restaurant The Black Swan at Oldstead, as well as The Abbey Inn, a stunning 19th-century pub near Byland Abbey.
For THOR’S Tipi, Banks has created a brand-new, bespoke menu that promises to showcase the best of Yorkshire produce. And if that’s not enough, you can pair your meal with ‘Tommy’s Turbo Shandy’, a refreshing summer drink made with a locally foraged liqueur.
Live Music, Drinks & Summer Vibes
It’s not just about food—THOR’S Tipi will be bringing all the summer vibes with live music, a fantastic lineup of street food vendors, and the return of ‘Disco Saturdays’ to keep the party going.
With a rotating selection of street food experts and a fully stocked bar serving ice-cold drinks, this is set to be one of the hottest spots in York this summer.
So, mark your calendars for 23rd May—summer is just around the corner, and we can’t wait!
