Yorkshire Coast Kite Festival To Showcase World’s Biggest Inflatables

The highly anticipated Filey Kite Festival returns for 2024, offering an incredible experience at no cost to attendees. Set against the stunning backdrop of Filey Brigg’s cliffs, the festival will feature some of the world’s largest and most colourful kites, filling the skies with vibrant displays over two exciting days.

Held at Filey Brigg Country Park, this year’s event is extra special as it coincides with the Filey Food & Drink Festival. This collaboration means that visitors can enjoy not only breathtaking aerial acrobatics but also a delightful array of food and drink offerings. The festival will showcase the talents of renowned international kite flyers, who will mesmerize the crowd with their skilful performances, drawing thousands to the picturesque North Yorkshire coast.

The event is scheduled for the weekend of September 21st and 22nd, with activities running from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. each day. Hosted and commentated by the Northern Kite Group (NKG), the festival promises to be an unforgettable experience for visitors of all ages.

In addition to the kite displays, there will be children’s fairground rides and a variety of refreshments available from local traders and the Country Park Café. Visitors are encouraged to bring picnic blankets and settle in for two days of family-friendly fun and spectacular kite flying.

Please note that the event is weather-dependent and may be subject to changes based on wind and weather conditions. Whether you’re a kite enthusiast or simply looking for a unique way to spend a weekend, the 2024 Filey Kite Festival is an event not to be missed.
