That’s right! You could be rubbing shoulders with a ‘well-known pop star’ after it’s revealed they’re interested in one of its stunning country houses in North Yorkshire.
The country house in question is Towton Hall, which is found on the outskirts of York near Tadcaster. The celeb in question went to view the property last week with “their entourage”, according to the Telegraph & Argus.
The property is on the market with a guide price in excess of £2.5m and comes with its own pub the Rockingham Arms. The property was put on the market last month by Blenkin & Co.

It has proved popular since being on the market, which isn’t surprising due to its proximity to York and its surrounding countryside. And, also the fact it has a pub!
Edward Hartsthorne the managing director of the property company said it’s the first time the home has been on the market in 60 years and is attracting some ‘big hitters.
Edward said: “I can’t say who, but they include a very well-known pop star. It would be like ‘it’s so cool’ (if they bought it). They visited the property with an entourage this week. I can’t say if they put in an offer.”

Unable to name the celebrity the MD says: “Even without this person, we have had some very big players, which is really nice”.
Towton Hall is said to be of ‘national significance’ as the 18th Century home is near to the site of the Battle of Towton, which took place in 1461.
Most of the house was built in 1770, but there is a 14th Century tower that is incorporated into the house that was standing during one of England’s bloodiest battles.
Not only that but in 1996 43 soldiers with links to the War of the Roses were discovered neath Townton Hall’s dining room during building works.

The hall has five bedrooms, outbuildings, and more land totaling 14 acres with a further 80 acres of amenity land available in a separate negotiation.
Speaking about the pub Edward said: “Unusually, the estate includes a country pub, the Rockingham Arms, that comes with a manager’s flat and a pub garden.”
Built-in the 18th Century as a traditional Country Inn, The Rockingham Arms is located on the site of one of the last complete medieval battlefields in Europe, which is famously known for hosting the bloodiest battle ever to be fought on English soil (Battle of Towton 1461).
The big question is, who could this mysterious pop star be? Lewis Capaldi? Ed Sheeran, Mel B, Harry Styles? Who knows?
