There’s no denying that Hull has advanced in recent years, and with it has come an eclectic food scene that has more than plenty on offer. And that includes incredibly tasty burgers, lucky for us East Yorkshire folk. From juicy beef burgers lathered in sauces, to huge chicken burgers that are almost the size of our heads – there’s a little something for everyone. So without further ado, here’s our guide to the best burgers in Hull right now.

Solita

New kid on the block Solita might have been Manchester-born – but it has Yorkshire running right through its veins now that Shoot The Bull has acquired it. Combining the Hull-born businesses fan-fave Pretzel buns with Solita’s seriously tasty American creations – the restaurant serves up whopping Wagyu beef burgers lathered in JD BBQ sauces, cheese, bacon, pastrami, chorizo – literally, everything you could think of. Not only that, but their menu also features a number of other unique combos, too – including their Cheeseburger Spring Rolls, which may I add, are absolutely delish. The restaurant is ideally located, sitting right on the lovely marina with views of the boats. Solita, Freedom Quay, Wellington St W, HU1 2BD.

Thieving Harry’s

One for the cool kids in town – Thieving Harry’s is a rustic, warehouse style venue, offering up craft beer and bloomin’ good grub. And while the spot serves up brunch, lunch, dinner and more – it’s the burgers that steal the show. Choose from beef, chicken or their plant-based burger – each of which is absolutely stacked with tasty toppings and covered in delicious sauces. They all come in under a tenner, too, meaning there’s wiggle room for washing it down with more booze. Thieving Harry’s, 73 Humber St, HU1 1UD.

Dope Burger

Dope Burger has become quite the institution in Hull, racking up a huge number of fans thanks to their meaty burgers. And the menu is incredibly diverse, offering up toppings such as pulled pork, maple bacon, chilli and cheese, raclette cheese and more – with a whole menu of chicken burgers and raclette hot dogs to choose from, too. It’s a meaty wonderland, for sure, but if plant-based is more your style, you can rest assured that there’s a menu for you, too. Head over next time you fancy being in a food coma. Dope Burger, 18 Witham, HU9 1BY | 556 Beverley Rd, Newland, HU6 7LG.

Crafted

Taking over from KerbEdge, Crafted serves a little bit of everything – including burgers, milkshakes and cocktails, but it’s really the burgers that are the highlight here. There’s an absolutely massive menu to choose from, with a list as long as our arms of beef burgers (which is before you even reach the extensive chicken burger list!). Concoctions include bacon and blue cheese, mushroom and Swiss cheese, sloppy joe, all-American, and even Mexican cheese with guacamole – with the chicken burgers featuring just as much diversity across the menu. Finish it off with a cocktail or a craft beer, or dig in to their wings, nachos, and hot dogs, too. Crafted, 56 Princes Ave, HU5 3QG.

Gadgie Burger

Much-loved Gadgie Burger has two sites across Hull, and it’s no surprise its been so successful. The saucy little spot is known for its delicious gourmet burgers (which are absolutely massive), and there’s a ton of menu options to choose from. From the spicy bolognese, beef rib and the pizza burger, to classics such as their breakfast burger and those of the pulled pork variety – you’re literally spoiled with choice whenever you eat here. But what really finishes off the meal is the incredible sides menu which features pizza fries, jerk wings, mozzarella sticks and more. Gadgie Burger, 643 Anlaby Rd, HU3 6SX | 317 Holderness Rd, HU8 8SH.

Temptation Burgers

If there’s one place on this list armed with fans, it’s this place. Making a name for themselves thanks to their brioche-enclosed juicy burgers, the cashless, self-service restaurant can be found at St Stephen’s in Hull, where they offer up cheeseburgers galore packed with a variety of toppings, with chicken burgers, craft beer, cocktails and more available, too. It’s the kinda burger you really have no choice but to get stuck into with napkins required – but honestly, it’s worth it for the flavour. Temptation Burgers, Unit 52, St Stephens, Hull, HU2 8LN.

Anti Sauté Sauté Club

Taking up residence at The White Hart, the Anti Sauté Sauté Club has a wonderfully diverse menu on offer – but it’s the burgers that are most worthy of all the limelight. All created with six ounce beef and finished off with herbs and butter, each burger is as flavourful as the next – with some tasty toppings to choose from (which honestly make it difficult to pick!). Choose from Stilton mayo and smoked back bacon, maple streaky bacon, pastrami and Swiss cheese, or triple cheese and bacon with relish – as well as a whole host of sides to accompany such as mac & cheese or Katsu fries. Anti Sauté Sauté Club, The White Hart, Alfred Gelder Street, Hull, HU1 1HB.
