One of Yorkshire’s most historic cities has featured in the top 10 most beautiful cities to visit in the UK. Featuring in the list were a whole host of amazing locations, and, although we would have liked to see more of Yorkshire’s cities in the list, we are pretty chuffed that York made an appearance.

The readers of Condé Nast Traveller voted the city ’10th best city’ in the UK in the list of best places to visit. Marks for such things as nightlife, restaurants, and friendliness were just some of the deciding factors in the ranking.

York was praised for its bustling independent cafes and restaurants, after riding the chain-wave for many years. We must say that York has become much better for places to eat than it once was and its nightlife, which was once lacking, is growing varied and exciting with the likes of the roof terrace bars and many new lively venues popping up in the centre.

York dropped four places since the 2020 list in which it came 6th, but is still the only Yorkshire city to feature in the Reader’s Choice Awards. No medal positions for the historic city, but it will always be gold in our eyes – that’s for sure.
In 1st place was the nation’s capital, with Edinburgh and Liverpool following in 2nd and 3rd respectfully. You can check out the full list below.
