The National Pub & Bar Awards are back this year and they’ve announced 94 county winners and are gearing up for the official celebration next month. Amongst the 94 winners are four pubs from each of Yorkshire’s districts, who’ve earned the accolade of best pub in their area this year – and we couldn’t be prouder of them.
If you’re looking for somewhere to venture to over the summer then I’d act fast to get any of these Gastropubs booked in as we think they might be getting booked up fast after this award mention. Check out the winners below!
East Riding of Yorkshire – The Black Horse, Little Weighton

Found in the hidden village of Little Weighton, is a little gem! If you don’t know where Little Weighton is, it’s in the heart of the Yorkshire Wolds, 3 miles away from Cottingham. Enjoy a pint of locally brewed ale next to a wood-burning fire and a bite to eat in a stylish yet comfortable pub that takes pride in what they produce.

North Yorkshire – The Carpenters Arms

Providing excellent restaurant food, and a traditional pub feel The Carpenters Arms take pride in what they do and it shows. The friendly environment and high-quality service have paid off and it’s awards like this that make the effort worthwhile.

They’re celebrating the news with a community BBQ. Speaking about the community BBQ, the new general manager, Paul Wicker, said: “This award means so much to us and we are hugely grateful to the local community in Felixkirk who have really supported us in recent months.

West Yorkshire – The Shibden Mill Inn

Shibden Mill Inn in Halifax is a 17th-century pub. Chef Will Webster and his team have curated a huge nine menus to choose from, including breakfast, Sunday lunch, afternoon tea, à la carte and tasting – which is a huge feat! They also serve up some amazing local ales as well as a range of spirits and wines.

South Yorkshire – The Botanist

The Botanist has been named the best pub & bar in this county. The Newcastle chain serves up a range of unique cocktails and decent ales in a brilliantly decorated restaurant and bar. Their famous hanging kebabs are absolutely amazing – that we know!

The 94 winners will celebrate at Euston Square in London on the 6th September where a whole host of awards will be given out such as Taproom of the Year, Pub Chef of the Year, Pub Brand of the Year, Bar Brand of the Year, Bartender of the Year. 15 regional winners will be announced so keep your eyes peeled for more.
