First-Look Trailer For Channel 5’s ‘All Creatures Great & Small’ Christmas Special

It’s not Christmas without a trip to Darrowby these days, and Channel 5 has now announced the air date for series 6’s Christmas special — and we can’t wait. The new series has been an absolute cracker (pardon the pun), with love in the air, the war ending and, of course, plenty of adorable animals.

We finally saw romance blossom in Darrowby, with Tristan finding love in the form of Charlotte Beauvoir, played by Emma Thompson’s daughter, Gaia Wise. Wise has been a charming addition to the All Creatures family, and we can’t wait to see what the festive season has in store for the lovebirds.

And we won’t have to wait long either; the All Creatures Great and Small 2025 Christmas special is set to air on Christmas Eve. Tune in at 9pm on Wednesday 24th December to enjoy all the festive fun at Skeldale House.

Based on the books by James Herriot (aka Alf Wight), the series has proven to be Channel 5’s top show. And it’s no surprise — in a world full of negativity, it’s a refreshing breath of fresh air that we look forward to every year.

The festive episode will follow on from the series 6 storyline in 1945. The synopsis is as follows: it’s the first peacetime Christmas since the war, and Helen is feeling under the weather, while James takes on the Darrowby Nativity play. Siegfried is back at Mrs Stokes’s farm to see what mischief Hilda the goat is up to. It’s also hinted that a darts game will play a key part in the festivities.

Mrs Hall is keen to win a fresh turkey in the Drovers’ darts competition — especially as they are still in short supply due to the war — but an old friend could throw preparations into chaos. Charlotte will also discover what’s been on Tristan’s mind as their relationship continues to grow. It wouldn’t be Christmas without a bit of romance.
