Channel 4 has shared the first images for the second series of its hit series Patience, a detective drama set in York, telling the story of a young woman with autism working with the criminal records department for the ‘City of York Police’
It’s always exciting when a new drama airs on tele, and it features Yorkshire as a backdrop. And, the new Channel 4 series does just that. The six-part police drama follows Patience Evans, played by Ella Maisy Purvis, who works in the records department of the Yorkshire Police, cataloguing and filing evidence and and was given more responsibilities in the first series (putting it lightly).

Patience is a young autistic woman who craves routine and order but is tasked with more responsibility by Detective Bea Metcalf, played by Laura Fraser from Breaking Bad. The new series promises ‘more twisted and mysterious crimes in spectacular settings,’ which we couldn’t agree more with, especially since it’s filmed in York.

BAFTA award-winning actress Jessica Hynes has joined the cast as DI Frankie Monroe, who it seems, might clash with Patience with a new style of management.
The previous series aired at the beginning of January, so he’s hoping that the new series has a similar release date to help us with the January blues. It’ll be back with eight episodes of gripping tele with the cast filming the series all over York for ten days back in June.
With no release date yet, Channel 4’s Patience will air sometime in 2026.
