We are just a little bit excited at the new first-look images released for Channel 5’s All Creatures Great and Small series five. James Herriot and the gang are set to return this autumn and the newly released pics give us an insight of what is to come.
The Channel 5 series is a heartwarming period drama, based on James Herriot’s, pen name of vet Alf Wight, beloved collection of short stories, set in the fictional village of Darrowby in the Yorkshire Dales with stories from Skeldale House.
Of course, the biggest news of the latest series is the return of Tristan, who was missed from the series four fighting in the war effort. The touching image shows Seigried and his younger brother reunited making our hearts melt as the usually hard exterior of the vet practice owner is sure to melt at his younger brother’s return from serving in the Royal Army Veterinary Corps.

Another image showed the whole gang outside the village church for baby Herriot’s christening. They’re all smiles, which will be a rare sight in the new series which still has the war effort at the heart of it. And, the third image shows James Herriot in his RAF uniform as he’s still serving. Herriot is looking particularly serious stood next to an aircraft.
The Channel 5 series continued to “bring the stories of James Herriot to life as we return to Darrowby to rejoin our unconventional much loved Skeldale Family and the colourful ensemble of farmers, animals and townsfolk living in the Yorkshire Dales in the 1940s”.

Filming on series five of All Creature wrapped in July and there is no release date as of yet. But, previous years have us guessing at a September or October release with a Christmas special – of course.
