First-Look Trailer Released For 5’s ‘All Creatures Great & Small’ Series 6

The beloved Channel 5 period drama All Creatures Great and Small is set to return this autumn with its highly anticipated sixth series. Channel 5 has unveiled the brand-new trailer, promising more heartwarming stories with James Herriot and the gang in the Yorkshire Dales.

Based on the much-loved books by Alf Wight (writing as James Herriot), the six-part series once again follows the vets of Skeldale House as they tend to both farm animals and village pets in Darrowby. Series 6 premieres on Thursday, 25th September 2025 at 9pm.

This time, the story picks up in 1945, just as the war in Europe draws to a close. The residents of Darrowby are looking ahead to peace, progress, and the promise of new beginnings. Viewers can expect veterinary innovations, growing families, fresh challenges, and of course, plenty of tender moments with animals great and small.

The returning cast includes Nicholas Ralph as James Herriot, Samuel West as Siegfried Farnon, Anna Madeley as Mrs Hall, Rachel Shenton as Helen Herriot, Callum Woodhouse as Tristan Farnon, Patricia Hodge as Mrs Pumphrey (alongside her pampered Pekingese, Tricki), Tony Pitts as Richard Alderson, and Imogen Clawson as Jenny Alderson.

Joining them are several exciting new faces: Lucy-Jo Hudson (Hollyoaks), Gaia Wise (The Dead of Winter), Jonathan Hyde (Titanic), Philip Martin Brown (Waterloo Road), and Chris Gascoyne (Coronation Street). Familiar guest stars Mollie Winnard, Conor Deane, Cat Simmons and Lamin Touray will also return.

Series 6 promises to capture the heart, humour, and humanity that have made All Creatures Great and Small one of television’s most cherished dramas.
