Fountains Abbey is set to host a two-day artisan Christmas market next month, as the Little Bird Christmas Artisan Market returns for another year of festive fun.
Set within the grounds of the UNESCO World Heritage Site in North Yorkshire, the market will bring together 40 independent makers, artists and food producers, including a mix of returning traders and new faces. Taking place on Saturday 28 and Sunday 29 November, it will offer visitors the chance to browse a range of unique, handcrafted products in a spectacular historic setting.
Shoppers can expect to find handcrafted jewellery, ceramics, homeware, textiles, artwork, fashion accessories, food and drink, alongside Christmas gifts and decorations. Whether you’re looking for a special present for someone or simply want to enjoy a festive day out, the market promises plenty of inspiration for the Christmas season while supporting independent makers and small businesses.
Jackie Crozier, Managing Director of Little Bird Made, said: “We’re absolutely delighted to be returning to Fountains Abbey for a second year. The response to our inaugural Christmas market exceeded all expectations, and we’re excited to welcome visitors back for another unforgettable weekend.
“Every trader has been carefully selected for the quality and originality of their work, creating a luxury shopping experience where every purchase has a story behind it. There’s something incredibly special about discovering beautifully handcrafted gifts in such a magnificent historic setting, and we’re proud to bring together some of the finest independent makers from across the region.”
Jason Scully, General Manager of Fountains Abbey, said: “We’re delighted to be welcoming Little Bird Made back to Fountains Abbey for a second year. Their artisan Christmas market was a fantastic addition to our festive offer last year, and we’re excited to see the team return this Christmas.
“The market provides another wonderful opportunity for people to experience Fountains Abbey during the festive season while supporting independent makers and small businesses. We know our visitors will enjoy browsing the wide range of market stalls, and we hope they’ll discover some unique gifts and seasonal treats to take home too.”
The market offers an opportunity to combine Christmas shopping with a visit to one of North Yorkshire’s best-known historic attractions, making it a potential festive day out for families, friends and anyone looking to find something a little different from the high street.
The market is free, although you do have to pay entry to the abbey site. Admission to the market is free for National Trust and English Heritage members. Tickets for entry to the abbey can be purchased through the National Trust website.
