Free Christmas Market Returns To Ripley Castle With 40 Yorkshire Makers

A beautiful Yorkshire castle is set to get into the festive spirit this November as a Christmas market returns, bringing independent makers, artisan food and plenty of gift inspiration to its historic courtyard.

Ripley Castle, near Harrogate, will welcome around 40 independent Yorkshire makers, producers and artisan businesses for a special Christmas market on Sunday 29 November, from 10am to 3pm.

Organised by Real Markets, the event will feature a carefully curated selection of stalls selling everything from original art and photography to candles, preserves, skincare, home décor and clothing. There will also be freshly prepared hot food and coffee to keep visitors fuelled while they browse.

Lucy Allen, director of Real Markets, said: “We can’t wait to bring an incredible range of local makers, bakers and creators to Ripley Castle’s Christmas Market. It’s the perfect opportunity to meet the talent behind the product and find beautiful gifts and treats while supporting independent businesses. Plus, with free entry to the market, gardens and grounds, it’s a great day out.”

The market will also mark Real Markets’ final event at Ripley Castle for 2026, bringing the year’s markets to a festive close.

And the best bit? Entry to the market, castle gardens and grounds is completely free, so you can make a day of it by exploring the beautiful grounds before or after picking up some Christmas gifts.
