Another Yorkshire pub has been highly commended for its top-notch roast dinners, which is no surprise because if there is one thing Yorkshire folk know, it’s how to do a proper roast. Put the ‘best roast in the UK on your bucket list for 2023.
Located in Bronte Country in Haworth, West Yorkshire, The Hawthorn took the top spot alongside Ducie Street Warehouse in Manchester.
The roasts were judged by the team at Rate Good Roasts, who travel the length and breadth of the country to hunt out the best roasts this little island has to offer.
Annoucing the news via their Instagram page they wrote: “Our Sunday Roast Top 10 List for 2022. After another challenging year for the hospitality industry, we are proud to share the amazing work of chefs and restaurants across the country.
“Congratulations to this year’s Top 10. We cannot wait to get back on the road in 2023.”

The judges have sampled hundreds of roasts in order to compile their fifth annual top 10 roasts in order for The Haworth to come out on top.
They judge the roasts on a range of 10 different factors including Meat, vegetables, sides, venue, drinks, value, potatoes, gravy, service and Yorkshire puddings
The Hawthorn came joint top with 95% not dropping below a 9 in any of the ten categories = scoring ten out of ten for meats, sides, venue, potatoes, and gravy with a nine for the rest.
Also featured on the list was The Ox Club in Leeds which gained a 91% rating with perfect scores of ten out of ten for meat, vegetables, sides, potatoes and Yorkshire puddings (which you have to get if you’re in Yorkshire).
