Helen Skelton Has Been Announced As The Final Contestant In This Year’s ‘Strictly Come Dancing’

Popular presenter of Countryfile, On The Farm and formerly Blue Peter is set to be the final contestant on Strictly Come Dancing 2022.

It was announced on Claudia Winkleman’s BBC Radio 2 show, that the 39-year-old would feature in the popular dancy contest, which shows celebrities partnered with a professional dancer vying to take the Strictly Crown.

This won’t be the first time the presenter has featured on the show, she previously appeared on a Strictly Christmas Special back in 2012.

The Strictly Come Dancing series is set to return for its 20th series on BBC One this autumn bringing a bit of glitz and glamour to the colder months.

Helen Skelton, who started her TV career in children’s tell on Newsround and Blue Peter completed some daring tasks such as cycling to the South Pole, kayaking over 2018 miles down the Amazon River, and completing an ultra marathon in Namibia so she’s used to a challenge said:

She said “I’m really excited to get stuck into a fun adventure. My family and friends have always loved the show and can’t wait for me to get started.”

Speaking to Winkleman on Saturday morning, Skelton said she had only recently agreed to do the show. and added: “Who gets to go to work and made to look a bit like Beyoncé and have a fun time?” adding “So I just thought, this is madness to not do it, of course I should do it. It’ll be so much fun.”

The broadcaster joins contestants including EastEnders star James Bye, singer Fleur East, Ted Lasso star Ellie Taylor, Bros singer Matt Goss, Kiss radio host Tyler West, former England footballer Tony Adams and Britain’s Got Talent finalist Molly Rainford.
