Jane McDonald is set to return to her home region of Yorkshire this week, in a brand new Channel 5 travel docuseries titled Jane McDonald’s Yorkshire. Uncovering the regions biggest gems, the Yorkshire-born star is set to travel to all corners of God’s Own Country – including her hometown of Wakefield, which is set to be the subject of episode one.
Taking a trip down memory lane, McDonald will offer an autobiographical insight into her time spent in Yorkshire, with visits to her favourite spots in Wakefield and nearby destinations such as Holmfirth.

Other destinations will include coastal destinations such as Bridlington, Scarborough, and Whitby, alongside beauty spots such as Knaresborough, the Yorkshire Dales and the stunning moors.
Announcing the news back in November, Jane told her Twitter fans: “Finally I can announce the exciting new Channel 5 series I’ve been working on for the past couple of months – Jane McDonald’s Yorkshire,”
“Here is a bit of information about the series…
“For Jane, Yorkshire is her home and always will be. Jane McDonald’s Yorkshire… the county she has called home all her life.

“The series will revisit the places Jane grew up in as she shares stories from her upbringing. As well as the wealth of history in Yorkshire’s landscape, ruins and heritage…
“This will be a personal journey for Jane, honouring the places where she grew up. The series will come to Channel 5 in 2022.”
JaneMcDonald has starred in numerous docuseries with Channel 5 – including Cruising with Jane McDonald and Jane McDonald and Friends, however, this will mark her first exclusively in her home county.
Jane McDonald’s Yorkshire airs on Channel 5 February 20th at 9pm.
