Leeds is getting a cool new spot as two of the city’s established businesses join forces to create a brand-new street food and craft beer spot.
The well-known and loved Kirkstall Brewery is joining forces with Indian restaurant Dastaan based on Otley Road to bring a ‘modern fusion’ of new dishes inspired by Indian cuisine.
The working name for the exciting new opening is Karobar, which means business in Hindi. And, the business they do mean with the venue set to be an exciting new summer opening.

It’ll be located in the former cocktail bar Banyan in Horsforth, which closed earlier this year to the dismay of locals and fans of the venue alike.
But, the exciting new collaboration s a silver lining on an ever so grey cloud even more so as Dastaan was named in the top 100 restaurants in the UK and in 2022 was named the best restaurant in Leeds on TripAdvisor.

There is nothing more exciting than independents coming together to create a unique dining experience, which is what customers are wanting more and more.
The pairing of Indian street food and great ales such as Kirkstall Brewery’s popular Three Swords will surely be welcomed after the closure of the popular Horsforth bar.

Announcing the collaboration with Dastaan Kirkstall Brewery wrote: they “believe in tradition, authenticity and innovation and this is an opportunity to show us what we can do”.
Sanjay Gour, co-founder and head chef at Dastaan Leeds, said: “When we opened, we didn’t expect such an amazing response – it’s been busy from day one.
“We saw his passion, obviously he sees our passion. We thought, ‘Let’s see if we can do something together’ and that’s how the ball started rolling and then Horsforth came up.”
