If you thought we’d be sick of our dogs at this point of lockdown, you’d be wrong, in fact – we can’t wait to treat our good boys and girls for their love and affection during the pandemic with treats, walkies galore and more time with their proud pawrents. Enter, Kibble Bakery. Skipton’s uber dog friendly bakery.

Situated in the centre of town, Kibble Bakery is the perfect place for both owners and pups alike to wind down, with plenty of treats up their sleeves for both humans and canines. And when we say treats, we’re not talking your typical packets of chicken chews, we’re talking specially baked desserts made fresh at the bakery every single day for our pooches to gorge on.

Baked in their DEFRA approved hound kitchen, there’s a fantastic selection to choose from – including handmade gluten, grain and dairy free pupcakes, bone biscuits, doggy donuts or ice-cream, a selection of dehydrated sausages, as well as doggy tea, pupspresso and even pawsecco. And that’s just for the dogs.

For the humans, there’s hand roasted coffees to sip on while your pooch has the time of its life, as well as burgers, bagels, waffles, pancakes and sandwiches – all of which are made with locally sourced produce from Yorkshire farmers – with divine cakes made fresh daily to try out, too. Think thick, creamy layers with toppings such as Kinder Bueno, caramel and fresh fruit.

It’s not just the premise of the cafe that’s caught our eyes, however, but its ideal location for exploring the beauty of Yorkshire. Sitting within the gateway of the Yorkshire Dales, there’s a ton of countryside to explore before or after your doggy feast – in addition to Skipton Castle which can be found just a short walk away from the cafe.
If that wasn’t all, Skipton itself has an array of fantastic shops to explore during your visit, as well as a glorious canal walk towards Gargrave that’s great for a sunny day.

Kibble Bakery can be found at 44 Sheep St, Skipton, BD23 1HY and is expected to re-open in line with the government’s lockdown exit plan. Til then, you can enjoy their online shop, where you can get a little taster of the fantastic dog treats they have to offer.
