Leeds Christmas Market Return Date Has Been Announced For 2025

We are well and truly into autumn, which means all the fantastic festive events are starting to be announced. And, one of the biggest events in the calendar, Leeds Christmas Market, is set to take of Leeds city centre this November.

All the festive fun will return to the city centre once again as it is bedazzled in twinkling lights and alpine chalets brimming with handmade gifts and crafts, alongside sweet treats and mouth-watering food and drink. The main areas, City Square and Millennium Square, will once again welcome the Christmas market and Winter Wonderland offerings from Friday, 21st November

The outdoor ice rink is also set to make an appearance. Expect 60 beautifully decorated chalets at this years Christmas Market. On top of that at Millennium Square, visitors can enjoy the spectacular Winter Wonderland, complete with the famous Ice Cube at Christmas. The 400 sqm covered ice rink will be surrounded by festive stalls and funfair rides, including the 30-metre-high Star Flyer, the Golden Gallopers carousel, and a 110ft Ferris wheel.

Christmas last year proved to be one of the busiest Leeds has had for years, which bodes well for Xmas 2025. Hundreds of thousands of visitors are expected to make their way to Yorkshire’s top city.

Also no to the missed on Bond Court, just off Park Row, you’ll find Little Bird hosting an artisan market with a range of independent producers and makers every Saturday and Sunday while the Christmas markets are on.

Councillor Jonathan Pryor, Leeds City Council’s deputy leader, said: “Christmas in Leeds is always such a special time. Seeing the city centre filled with people enjoying all the best bits of the season is magical. It’s also hugely important for our economy, creating a buzz that benefits everyone.”

He continued: “It’s also a huge time for our local economy, attracting hundreds of thousands of people to the city centre and creating a unique buzz for everyone visiting Leeds. We’re excited to be welcoming Christmas back to Leeds this November and hope this gives the whole city something to look forward to.”

The City Square market will run until Sunday, 21st December, while the Ice Cube ice rink, stalls, and rides will stay open until New Year’s Eve.
