Channel 4’s The Circle Is Looking For People From Yorkshire For Its New Series
I can already hear the groaning begin.

The Circle, which has now had three successful series, is set to return with its fourth. The show, inspired by Black Mirror episode ‘Nosedive’, has contestants rate each other throughout the show with the highest players becoming “influencers” and the least favourite getting “blocked”.

Set across the boarder in Salford, Lancashire the social media experiment sets eight players against each other through an exclusive app haven’t never met previously. We’ve been watching the latest seasons and it’s had us hooked.

The contestants can create decide to be themselves or create their own persona and world in a bid to elevate their popularity, much like how Instagram works in the real world. Some of our favourite’s from this year have been a man in his 20s pretending to be a 60 year old, and another pretending to be a woman in their 80s.

With a prize of 100k it isn’t surprising why the show has become so popular over the years, with the US, Brazil and France set to produce their own versions through popular streaming site Netflix.

Host, Emma Willis said: “The Circle is just brilliant, unmissable television,”

“I loved every minute of being a part of it and I’m delighted to be returning to it for another series where I’ll be right at the centre of all the mischief and drama! To add to that, we’re also doing a celeb version – I can’t wait to see who’ll be in the line-up and whether they’ll play as themselves or as another celebrity, it’s going to be incredible.”

Gilly Greenslade, who commissioned all three series for Channel 4, said: “When we were developing the series three years ago, I knew it would reflect how we live but I never expected it to be quite so prophetic.”

Production and filming is set to begin later this year, with the show aiming to be on air at the start of 2021.
